Plumbing, Heating and Air Conditioning Curriculum

Beloit Campus

The Plumbing, Heating & Air Conditioning Program prepares students for entry-level positions in the Plumbing, Heating & Air Conditioning field. Students will receive training in planning, installation and maintaining plumbing,heating and air conditioning systems and water pumps. Internships with employers are available to receive valuable on-the-job training. A PHAC Certificate will be granted upon successful completion of the program.

Program Objectives

  • Possess the knowledge to perform tasks of entry-level Plumbing, Heating & Air Conditioning employment.
  • Apply the theory of PHAC to specific jobs using reasoning/critical thinking and the ability to work independently.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of industry hazards and related safety practices.
  • Use mathematical/technical data in relation to the PHAC field.
  • Use effective communication skills appropriate to the PHAC industry.
  • Demonstrate an understanding of personal and work characteristics that contribute to effective job performance.

  • The Building Construction Technology Program combines key components of four other programs. It is aimed at producing highly skilled individuals with the ability to perform multiple tasks related to the construction trades. This program gives students the option to select two of the following 9 month programs: Bricklaying, Carpentry, PHAC, and Residential Electricity. Upon successful completion of two programs and eighteen hours of General Education credits the student will be awarded an Associate of Applied Science Degree.
