Welding Curriculum

Beloit Campus

The Welding Program provides skill and knowledge necessary for entry level/experienced job employment upon graduation. Students will learn and apply various welding procedures to include identifying electrodes, equipment and welding symbols. Internships with employers are available. Successful completion of the program will lead to a Welding Certificate.

Program Objectives

  • Possess knowledge to perform tasks consistent with entry level/experienced welding employment.
  • Apply the theory of welding technology to specific jobs using critical thinking/reasoning and the ability to work independently.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of welding hazards and related safety practices.
  • Use mathematical data and reasoning skills in relation to the welding profession.
  • Demonstrate an understanding of personal and work characteristics that contribute to an effective job performance.
  • Be prepared to obtain certification for welding in accordance with American Welding Society requirements.
