North Central Kansas Technical College is proud of the educational and technological environment that is available to students of all ages.  Whether in the lab, shop, classroom or on-the-job training, students are exposed to real-life situations.

NCKTC's unique learning environment enables students to receive quality hands-on instruction.  Small class sizes allow for more personal instruction and create a comfortable learning atmosphere.

Student Services

  • The Resource Center
    Beloit Campus - Students on the Beloit campus are encouraged to use the resources available for research, reference and relaxation.  the Resource Center houses the library, a computer lab and tutoring services.
    • Available library resources include:
      • A computerized catalog detailing the more than 2,000 titles on our shelves.
      • Access to multiple on-line and regional newspapers in print.
      • Over 80 magazines and regional newspapers in print.
      • Participation in the Kansas Interlibrary Loan system, which allows students to borrow materials from other Kansas libraries.
      • Free photocopy services for educational materials.
    • The Computer Lab offers:
      • Seven Internet-accessible computer workstations.
      • Access to web-based e-mail communication.
      • Microsoft Office applications including Word, Access, Excel and PowerPoint.
      • Free laser printing for educational purposes.
    • Tutoring services provide:
      • Assistance with Internet searches and expanding general research skills.
      • Targeted aid for assignments and subject areas, including math, computer use, and the social sciences.
      • Help with Microsoft Word and developing written reports.
      • Counseling for improving general study habits, and test taking.
      • Computerized tutorials for specific areas of study.

  • Housing and Food Service
    • Beloit Campus - On-campus housing will accommodate 128 students and is on a space-available basis.  Students who desire off-campus housing may contact the Administration Office for details.
    • Food service is available with three meals per day Monday through Thursday and breakfast and lunch on Friday.  Food service is included in the cost of housing.  Off-campus students may purchase a food service contract or may pay at the door.
    • North Central Kansas Technical College provides access to Cunningham Cable Internet in the dorms on the Beloit campus. Any students living in the dorms may obtain Internet access for their windows based computer through their dorm contract.
      • Students will need to bring their Windows 2000 or later (32-bit) based computer/notebook with an available USB port to the Computer Technology building - office 054 prior to use for the following:
        • If desired, a wireless USB network adapter may be checked out to the students for the duration a their contract. If the wireless network adapter is lost, damaged or stolen the wireless network adapter will be replaced at the students expense.
        • Installation and configuration of the wireless network adapter will be completed by the college's IT staff.
        • Every student accessing the Internet will need to make sure they have up to date antivirus software and all available service packs and patches installed on their computer prior to accessing the Internet access.
        • It is recommended that a software firewall also be used, such as Windows XP Service Pack 2 Firewall, Norton Internet Security, Norton Personal Firewall, or Zone Alarm.

  • Student Union
    • Beloit Campus - Students may enjoy many activities on campus.  The student Union contains a game room with television, ping pong, pool table and foosball.  Recreational facilities also include an heated indoor swimming pool, gymnasium, and wellness center.

    • NCK Technical College completes vocational testing of students.  Staff members are available to assist with academic, technical and career needs.

  • Placement Services
    • The North Central Kansas Technical College offers career planning and placement service for current students and alumni wishing to relocate.  We will assist students with job searches, resume writing and portfolio development.  The college is continually developing a comprehensive database of prospective employers for our graduates along with a list of part-time jobs in the area for our current and future students.

  • Admission Policies
    • Applications should be made early.  Students are accepted on a space available basis on all programs except for Automotive Technology II and Nursing programs which have qualified admissions.  All applicants must be at least 16 years of age or junior standing and have int4erests and aptitudes for the department of their choice.  For employment purposes, students must be 18 years of age upon completion of the program.  Interested students should complete an application for admission, which may be obtained on-line, or by contacting either campus at:

  • Testing Policy
    • For course placement purposes, all incoming students to NCKTC must have taken one of the following tests within a two-year period prior to enrollment ACT, SAT, ASSET or COMPASS test.  NCKTC will offer on campus ASSET/COMPASS testing sessions for incoming students who have not already taken any of these tests or for persons who have not taken a course placement test within the last two years.  Test scores should be forwarded to the NCKTC Registrars Office no later than May 1st preceding the students expected start date.  Test date inquiries should be directed through the Admissions Office.
