Two Year Associate of Applied Science Degree

Program Description

NCK Technical College's Diesel Technology Program gives you hands-on experience with highly trained, veteran instructors at your side.  Engine overhaul, electrical systems, torque convertors, power trains and testing are all part of the first year of Diesel Technology.  The second year will include more intensified training in fuel injection systems, electrical systems, hydraulic systems and computer assisted diagnostics.

 

Upon graduation you will:

  • Possess the knowledge to perform tasks appropriate for entry-level diesel technology positions.
  • Apply the theory of diesel mechanics to specific jobs using critical thinking/reasoning and the ability to work independently.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of safety hazards involved with the diesel mechanics field.
  • Use mathematical data, reasoning skills and communication skills in relation to the diesel mechanics profession.

 

Job Titles & Salaries of Past Students Include:

  • Shop Mechanics, Line Mechanic, Field Mechanic, and Product Support Technicians - ($24,000 to $32,000 per year)
  • Shop Service Technicians, Partsmen, and Service Dispatch Managers - ($25,000 to $34,000 per year)

These salaries represent beginning salaries of graduates receiving a two year Associate of Applied Science Degree.
