North Central
Kansas Technical College is dedicated to providing equal
opportunities in post-secondary education to
academically qualified students with disabilities who
demonstrate a reasonable expectation of College success.
Students with disabilities attending NCKTC are
integrated as completely as possible into the College
atmosphere.
North Central Kansas Technical College does not offer a
specialized curriculum for students with disabilities.
The College requests input from students to assess
individual needs and determines what resources are
available for meeting those needs.
North Central Kansas Technical College acknowledges that
traditional methods, programs and services are not
always appropriate or sufficient to accommodate the
limitations experienced by some qualified persons with
disabilities. When a student’s disability prevents
him/her from fulfilling a course requirement through
conventional procedures, consideration will be given to
alternatives, keeping in mind that academic standards
must be maintained.
Students requesting services are required to submit
documentation to determine eligibility in accordance
with Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 and
the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 (ADA). The
documentation provided to NCKTC should be medical or
other diagnostic information that confirms his/her
disability and limitations, and should be current
(within the past three years).
Each student is expected to make timely and appropriate
disclosures and requests, at least four weeks in advance
of a course, program, or activity for which
accommodation is requested (or as soon as realistically
possible).
