AAS in Building Construction Trade

Heavy Equipment Operation is the oldest and most prominent school of its kind in the Central United States.  Heavy Equipment offers not only classroom lecture but also hands-on real life experience.  Students must be 18 years of age, pass a drug screen and safety course before operating equipment.

In Heavy Equipment Operation:

Students will receive hands-on instruction in the operation of Scrapers, Motor Graders, Dozers, Backhoes, Front-end Loaders and Excavators.

Theory courses will include Rollers, Asphalt Paving Equipment, Concrete Paving Equipment.

Understand the hazards of working with heavy equipment and the procedures to follow to prevent injury.

Use appropriate mathematical data and reasoning skills in relation to entry-level employment in a heavy equipment profession.

Apply effective communication and interview skills appropriate to the industry.
