The North Central Kansas Technical College Business Professionals of America (BPA) organization made up of the Information Technology (IT) Department returned home from competing at the National Leadership Conference for Business Professionals of America that was held in Boston, MA on May 4 – May 8, 2016.
Business Professionals of America helps prepare students for careers in business, computer, and office occupations. Universities, Colleges, Technical Colleges, Community Colleges, and Vocational Schools participate in the post-secondary organization.
The department brought home:
- 2nd in Digital Publishing won by Gabriel Markham (Dearing, KS)
- 2nd in Visual Basic/C# Programming won by Bryant Iverson (North Platte, NE)
- 2nd in Digital Media Production won by Brett Wallace (Clay Center, KS)
- 3rd in Digital Media Production won by Sergio Sanchez (Newton, KS)
- 3rd in Fundamental Desktop Publishing won by Rachel Miller (Ansley, NE)
- 3rd in Web Site Design Team won by Tyler Blass (Beloit, KS), Jacob Antholz (Rexford, KS), and Rachel Miller (Ansley, NE)
- Top 10 in Visual Basic, C# Programming won by Tyler Blass (Beloit, KS)
- Top 10 in Visual Basic, C# Programming won by Scott Englert (Hays, KS)
- Top 10 in Video Production Team won by George Latt (Logan, KS), Sergio Sanchez (Newton, KS), and Brett Wallace (Clay Center, KS)
- We also competed in PC Servicing and Troubleshooting, Network Administration Using Microsoft, Systems Administration Using Cisco, Information Technology Concepts, Computer Security, Fundamental Spreadsheet Applications, Fundamentals of Web Design, SQL Database Fundamentals, Computer Programming Concepts, and Computer Network Technology, Administrative Support Concepts.
