NCK Tech has spent quite a bit of time in the national spotlight this fall. They received a #1 in the nation in job placement award given by Zippia.com and was ranked #3 in the nation in graduation rates by The Chronicle of Higher Education. And recently NICHE.com, a website that helps users discover the schools and neighborhoods that are right for them, ranked NCK Tech as the 10th best community college in America.

NCK Tech achieved this ranking by scoring high on factors including academics, quality of professors, financial aid, and student life data from the U.S. Department of Education along with millions of reviews from students and alumni. Dean of Student Services, Angel Prescott explains their success. “We pride ourselves on the quality of education we provide here at NCK Tech. We could not offer such a high level of success without our invaluable instructors and staff that are dedicated to student advancement. Students receive high quality hands-on learning in a safe environment which results in superior levels of student achievement in the classroom and workforce. We appreciate NICHE.com’s recognition of our efforts.”

Matt Friess, who is an alum and current employee of NCK Tech shares his thoughts on what makes NCK Tech a great place be. “The thing that stood out to me about NCK Tech, first off, was the rural area. It is beautiful country up this way, and the campus is a beauty. But the thing that got me to stay? Sharon and Don Alphin. I remember them taking my mom and I anywhere on the campus we wanted to go when I came to tour in 2001. They were so nice, and easygoing, and my mom even remembered them, 16 years later. That’s the impact they had. Then my first class was with PHAC instructor Brian Badger, and everyone left with sore abs from laughing so much, and that’s when I knew I was going to dig it here. Now, as an instructor, I don’t miss an opportunity to brag the school up. Whenever I have a chance to promote anything about the school, I sure will. I’m proud of this college, and this is where I belong.”

NCK Tech is a fully accredited 2-year technical college with campuses in Beloit and Hays, KS. They tout 25 different programs to choose from ranging from Agriculture Equipment Technology to Welding. Most programs are either 9 or 18 months in duration. The college also offers credits that transfer to 4-year institutions for students who are looking to further their education.
